EVENT RULES

I have read and understood the Event Rules and agree to abide by the terms set out therein.

GENERAL DISCLAIMER

All participants pledge to raise a minimum £100.00 per person for Matt Hampson Foundation.

Our Participant Charter

The purpose of this Charter is to set out standards of behaviour expected from participants in the  Walk4Matt event. Everyone should ensure that they have read and comply with this Code of Conduct. 

Participants should maintain the highest standards of behaviour by:

  • Behaving in a safe, efficient and competent way;
  • Following any instructions or directions reasonably given to them by Charity officials;
  • Acting honestly, responsibly and with integrity;
  • Treating others with fairness, equality, dignity and respect;
  • Raising concerns about possible wrongdoing witnessed by the participant;
  • Acting in a way that is in line with the purpose and values of the charity and that enhances the work of the charity;
  • Communicating respectfully and honestly at all times;
  • Observing safety procedures, including any obligations concerning the safety, health and welfare of other people during the event;
  • Reporting any health and safety concerns;
  • Dispose of litter responsibly and sustainably;
  • Maintaining an appropriate standard of dress and personal hygiene;

Participants are expected NOT to:

  • Bring the charity into disrepute (including through the use of email, social media and other internet sites, engaging with media etc.);
  • Engage in any activity that may cause physical or mental harm or distress to another person (such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, assault, bullying, or discrimination or harassment on the grounds of gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller community);
  • Be affected by alcohol, drugs, or medication which will affect their ability to complete the walk;
  • Engage in any activity that may damage property;
  • Take unauthorised possession of property that does not belong to them;
  • Engage in illegal activity while participating;

Where a participant is found to be in breach of the standards outlined in this Charter or any of other policies and procedures, this may result in the participant being removed from the event.

Activity Waiver Form

We are delighted you are joining this Charity Walk (the “Walk”) to raise money for the Matt Hampson foundation.  It’s important to us that you are fit and well enough to participate in the Activity and we are sure you’ll understand the need to protect the Foundation too. Please read this carefully before signing.

IN CONSIDERATION of being allowed to participate in the Activity and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I (the “Participant” “me” or “I”) agree with the Matt Hampson Foundation of Twyford Road, Burrough-on-the-Hill, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE14 2JR (the “Foundation”) to the following:

Fitness to participate
I confirm that as of the date of signature below:

  • I am over the age of 18 years old. If I under the age of 18 my parents or guardian have provided their agreement and hereby undertakes to supervise me throughout the Walk;
  • I am in good health and in a good physical condition to safely participate in the Walk.
  • I will follow the reasonable instructions of the volunteers and staff throughout the Walk and will always remain on the course path. 
  • I understand that photographs will be taken throughout the Walk, and I will notify a volunteer if I do not consent for my photograph to be used in any press of charity-related communications. 

Liability
I forever waive, release, covenant not to bring any legal claim, and discharge the Foundation, its employees, volunteers, agents from any and all claims arising out of my participation in the Walk resulting from any risks, such as personal injury (including death) resulting from damage to, loss of, or theft of my property during the Walk. EXCEPT THAT nothing in this Agreement shall limit or exclude the Foundation’s liability for: (i) death or personal injury resulting from its negligence; (ii) breach of statutory duty; (iii) criminal acts; (iv) fraud; (v) or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

The Liability and Indemnity provisions in this Waiver shall survive the end of the Walk.

Governing Law
This Waiver will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

PRIVACY POLICY

I understand and agree that by submitting an online registration to participate in this event, I am consenting to receive email and postal communications from Matt Hampson Foundation. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to ensure emails regarding my participation in the event sent by Matt Hampson Foundation and/or event organisers (including but not limited to email receipts, tickets and advanced notices) are received by me, and are not redirected to Spam or Junk folders or sent to email addresses I do not have access to.

I acknowledge that my data will only be used for marketing purposes, including but not limited to electronic marketing, if I provide specific consent for this during the registration process. I understand that I may unsubscribe from any marketing emails I do opt in to receiving at any time, either by changing the option in my Profile Settings or by calling Matt Hampson Foundation at any time.

I am aware that Matt Hampson Foundation will never sell or otherwise distribute my details to any third party, except in regards to providing health and safety data to the event organisers for use in that respect only.
